What are Sensible Lines Milk Trays^TM?
Sensible Lines Milk Trays™ is an efficient way to freeze your breast milk. It freezes expressed breast milk in 1oz servings thus allowing breastfeeding mothers and/or the baby's caregiver (dad, grandparents, maid etc.) to give milk made to order. Using the Milk Trays™ will give breastfeeding mothers confidence in knowing that none of their breast milk will be wasted (a common occurrence for pumping mothers) and helps them achieve their breastfeeding goals.

How does it help eliminate wasted breast milk?
Before Milk Trays™ was introduced, many mothers had to rely on zip-lock milk storage bags which can be quite costly, hence the tendency to pour four to eight ounces into it instead of leaving it barely-filled. The entire bag must be thawed and since breast milk cannot be refrozen once thawed (even warming then cooling then warming again is a “no-no” because of early spoiling and even more destruction of valuable nutrients), usually several ounces get thrown away. Think about that for a moment…several ounces thrown away…that can really add up over time.

With Milk Trays™, expressed breast milk is frozen in convenient one-ounce milk servings called Milk Sticks™. The breastfeeding mom or the baby's caregiver (dad, grandparents, maid etc.) just needs to defrost the number of milk sticks she/he needs to feed the baby at that feeding time. How to use Milk Trays™?
Milk Trays™ (breast milk freezing trays) are used to freeze expressed breast milk, not actually store breast milk. To use, pour expressed breast milk into each of the cavities of your Milk Trays™. This will then freeze it into the patented one-ounce servings in just a few short hours. Once the breast milk is frozen, you will then “pop out” the one-ounce Milk Sticks™ and store them in dated freezer-safe zip lock bags or containers (found in every kitchen) until ready to use. Now the trays can be reused for the next round(s) of pumping.

Freezer-safe zip lock bags or containers are safe to hold frozen food products like breast milk, remember the milk is already frozen! It is safe to touch the frozen breast milk as long as you wash your hands prior to handling the milk.

Milk Trays™ are not ice cube trays (or ice cube trays with lids). Milk Trays™ is a breast milk freezing system that has been specifically designed for expressed breast milk. Warning : Do not boil or place Milk Trays in your dishwasher or sterilizer. Due to their flexibility, which makes Milk Trays easier to use and the lack of a harding agent called Bisphenol-A, exposing them to extreme heat or varying temperatures will warp or melt your trays

• No need to Sterilize - Not all micro-organisms can be killed with only heat. Milk Trays are made from medical grade plastic. This type of plastic will not leach chemicals into your breast milk

• Wash in Warm, Soapy Water - since your trays are new, the lids fit snug and will loosen some more over time. To maintain the lid seal and longer lasting of your Milk Trays, wash in warm, soapy water.

• One-Ounce Milk Sticks - Each cavity has a thin one-ounce fill line all the way around, approximately 1/8 inch down from the top. Due to the clarity of the plastic, the line is slightly hard to see, but can be felt. Be sure to only fill breast milk to the line since breast milk expands while freezing.

• Freeze in Confidence -  Freeze breast milk in one-ounce Milk Sticks and transfer them for storage into a zip lock freezer bag. This allows storage of MORE ounces while taking up less freezer space. NOTE: Do not store more than 2 weeks worth of breast milk in one bag. Write the dates on the bag and be sure to use the oldest bag first.

• Freezing Over Time - breast milk can be kept inside (not in the door) of a conventional freezer (top-mount of side by side) for up to 6 months or in a deep freezer for up to one year. Following the freezing tips (using zip lock freezer bags and dating your bags) should ensure little to no spoilage of your breast milk)

• Once Thawed - Reminder to  NEVER refreeze breast milk once thawed and use the thawed breast milk within 12 hours.
